See ReleaseNotes-A.txt for ./pia_NM_profiles_install.sh
See ReleaseNotes-B.txt for ./get_region_and_token_NM_GUI.sh
See ReleaseNotes-C.txt for ./port_forwarding.sh
pia_NM_profiles_install.sh
Version 0.9
. Added support for ./.piacredentials
. Changed PIA server address from IP to fully qualified name (fqname)
in front of the PIA balancers
. Upgraded (from v4) to the PIA v5 data
. Established 2 key next-steps
Details from script introduction:
# support for ./.pia-credentials is provided:
# .pia-credentials must be created with only 2 lines. The 1st line
# must contain only the pia username and the 2nd, the password.
#
# Next steps:
# 1. Determine correct port data (case statement(below) vs data in v5)
# 2. Test distribution version validation section, below (deb, rhel, arch)
Version 0.8
. Added "PIApf-" prefix to NetworkManager profiles when the install is
executed to support port forwarding allowing a simple verification
in get_region_and_token_NM_GUI.sh that this script was run and
port forwarding was selected.
. v4 data: identified v4 data changes frequently and the "downstream"
requirements:
a) generateToken request requires "live" data from v4
b) getSignature request requires "static" data from this install(*)
Subsequently:
Implemented initial v4 data save to /var/log to create static v4
data from this install
* Note: port_forwarding getSignature curl request will fail on SSL
cert name unless static v4 data (from install) is used.
This request is only allowed via the PIA VPN; meaning the
use of curl -k should work (and did during test) but this
script addresses the issue and implements support for the SSL
cert for better security.
