Cancelled on foreground

When receiving GCM messages in the foreground I always get a cancelled:

W/GCM-DMM ( 789): broadcast intent callback: result=CANCELLED forIntent { act=com.google.android.c2dm.intent.RECEIVE pkg=com.package.name (has extras) }

What 'extras' is it talking about? some people mentioned that it's if the app is killed, but the intent works well if the app is in the background or off. It doesn't display when in foreground, but it used to do that hwen I was with the original pushPlugin .
