Fastboot on samsung galaxy A52 via twrp does not get detected on pc

• I am running an official build of TWRP, downloaded from https://twrp.me/Devices/
• I am running the latest version of TWRP
• I have read the FAQ (https://twrp.me/FAQ/)
• I have searched for my issue and it does not already exist

Device codename: a52q
TWRP version: twrp-3.7.1_12-0-a52q

WHAT STEPS WILL REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM?

Booting into recovery from adb, os or just holding button combo
Selecting Reboot
Selecting Fastboot
Connecting phone to pc

WHAT IS THE EXPECTED RESULT?

fastboot gets detected on pc and is usable

WHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD?

Pc does not detect any usb devices

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The os i had installed whilst this happened was Lineage OS 20
I was following a guide for project renegade, thus requiring fastboot.
I even tried to use adb via the fastboot mode twrp offers, with no usb being detected as well.

/tmp/recovery.log: i could not upload the log due to the error of "DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE" appearing on my end, i will try to use github's upload service, sorry for the trouble

I am experiencing this issue as well with the latest built on my FP5. To make matters interesting, when selecting adb mode within the twrp fasboot using the graphical display the phone is recognized just fine by both the device manager and the adb devices command. Goes back to not being recognized when fastboot mode is selected.
