Colormap for grass

for some reason the colormap for grass isn't looking as vibrant and colourful as it should do. When i load the one that comes in the Java master then the savannah looks grey and washed out. So i copied the foliage colormap and am using that for the moment which seems to work ok. I just didn't want everything that looks vaguely green to be the same tone at floor and head height.

The issue seems to occur in savannah biomes the border any other biome.
