HN Comment Summarizations

Similar to iOS notification previews, this Chrome Extension summarizes the comment thread of an HN story and adds the previews next to each story on the HN homepage. Uses Gemini 1.5 Flash-8B and you must supply your own API key.

Install instructions

  1. Download or clone the repo
  2. Goto https://aistudio.google.com/ and get an API key
  3. Goto chrome://extensions and turn on developer mode
  4. Load an unpacked extenion and point it to the folder with the source
  5. Goto news.ycombinator.com and press the orange extension icon in your chrome toolbar
