I've always found it a bit silly that the optimal thing to do for a lot of players on a medium-high collaboration server, is to just spend your points on professions that do nothing but: [Log in => open table => queue up 1000x => apply labor & food => log off.]
This encourages needlessly passive gameplay, because there's no reason to opt for one of the four active professions. [Harvesting, Hunting, Logging, Mining.]
You can still do these activities, but because you're unspecialized it takes so much more food and time you might as well leave it to the specialized folks. You're basically wasting a ton of resources.
Hence it would be nice if there's an optional game setting (enabled by default to 1 point) to enable a number of unique labor specialization stars that can only be spent on one of those four active specializations. If you want to do even more of these active professions, you'll have to spend actual specialization stars.
This would also open up the possibility to add more simple professions like driving (increases speed, maneuverability, decreases fuel consumption) or excavation (for dirt and such, lower calories, faster digging animation, maybe 2 dirt blocks fit in a scoop?) without making people feel like they're being scammed out of their valuable specialization points for wanting to do something they like.
