NightWatch Android down? 12/8 730pm est #137
Comments
Mine has been down for a couple of hours now. |
That stinks but thank you. At least it's not just mine. Have a good night |
The G-Watch App [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.trupici.g_watch} is working. |
12hrs and mine is still down. |
Mine too. Thx. |
Mine stopped working at about 5:00pm EST yesterday the 8th. 15 Hours and counting. I tried to install and start using the gwatch app, but couldn't figure it out and could find any step by step instructions. I'm not very tech savvy. |
Same here, all of it. This was my saving grace with Dexcom only alerting when it's very low. Sugar made down now this down I didn't get very much sleep last night. Sure hope something corrects itself soon. |
*SugarMate |
That was about the time mine stopped working. I spent probably 2hrs trying to reboot different things, updated my galaxy watch, uninstalled and reinstalled both nightwatch and wearable widgets, etc. Then started googling it and found this thread and saw I wasn't the only one with an issue. |
Me too |
|
The Dexcom app is not having issues for us It's just night watch |
Definitely "Dexcom follow" is working. I was suggesting that you try it. Is the dexcomm app ONLY alerting for extreme lows for you? There are settings to fix that problem I believe. Good luck. Diabetes sux , dexcom makes it suck a little less |
It sure does. Thanks for all of your suggestions. It's very much appreciated! Yes we are getting the alerts but we need more of a "higher" heads up and that's what we rely on Night Watch for. Have a good day and thanks again 👍 |
Anyone know the issue? I use Nightwatch to get readings on my android watch. |
Yes we do. He often falls as fast as 30-50 points ev 5 mins, not often but that's not enough alert time for us. |
First Sugarmate now Nightwatch...ughh! Been down since 2pm PST yesterday, no offense to dexcom or anyone else but the follow app is complete trash. Anyone know if this will be back up anytime soon??? |
Mine stopped working as well. I set up xdrip+ (https://github.com/NightscoutFoundation/xDrip/releases) or if you already have xdrip and need to run a 2nd copy you can download a varient (https://github.com/NightscoutFoundation/xDrip/releases/tag/2021.10.13-variants) this has fixed it for me |
I installed xdrip+ and the Dexcom share connection is still failing. |
Does it possibly have anything to do with Sugarmate coming back online? I really missed the alerts from nightwatch though |
Yep - did full uninstall/reinstall, and still dead here too. Last registered 2340 minutes ago... so 4pm EDT on Wednesday 12/8? Tried with xdrip as well, disabled link with Dexcom Share and re-activated it, but still nothing. @StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken any ideas? |
Whatever is happening, has to do with the connection with Dexcom. I'm running NightWatch currently successfully pulling from NightScout |
My wife uses Sugarmate on her iPhone and they switched to using the Dexcom username and password now, so it could be related. |
If you run the most recent nightly build of xdrip it works fine |
Interesting. I installed the latest nightly build of xdrip and it is able to get data from Dexcom. Wonder why that works, but nightwatch and xdrip stable release don't. |
I don't remember and I cant find my notes... did I have to install xdrip to get nightwatch to work? |
Delete nightwatch and just use xdrip. Nightwatch isn't updated, the last build on GitHub is from 2016 |
But my wife is non-technical at all. Her dexcom app reads the sensor and uploads to share. My phone is running nightwatch pulling data from dexcom share. It seems xdrip wants to pull from the sensor directly... my wife travels, how will I be able to use xdrip to monitor her from a distance? Unless I'm misunderstanding something which is always possible |
Xdrip has an option to pull from dexcom share. Set dex share as your hardware data source. During the initial setup it's under other. You run xdrip on the device that you were running nightwatch on. |
IF he has an iPhone. Sugarmate doesn't have an Android option. |
That's fair, but that's also extra steps for basically the same result. |
Thank you that's definitely something I'm going to give a try. |
Where do I find my sugermate url? |
My nightwatch app stopped receiving data from Dexcom too. Has anyone solved this issue? I installed xdrip+ but it won't connect to the Dexcom share servers (it says having problems connection to share servers). Please help! Thanks! |
Same problems for me still continuing on. I've tried all of the extra and suggestions up above and it's still not working even though the decks come and sugar mate apps have resolved their issues. I was told it should resolve itself by then but it has not. |
Use the "pre-release' nightly build

Thank you so much OhRonaldo1! It worked for me. I am new to the xdrip. Do I have to keep downloading it or now that it is working, am I good to go? I ask because it is a "nightly" build. |
Truth be told, I downloaded it only about 10 minutes before you did. I've
been using the obsoleted "Nightwatch" for a while now. :D
I think you're good to go at this point with no requirement to re download.
There does seem to be automated updates in the menues and there are choices
there, but I don't see a way to turn them completely off. We will learn
together.
Good luck

Likewise! Thanks again! |
I have Xdrip and I made all the choices including the Dexcom and it's asking me for the transmitter number. I put that in and then it says start sensor? I don't want to mess with his sensor is this going to restart things? |
That will allow xDrip to control the sensor ... I don't think you want that option.
|
In Settings select Hardware Data Source then select Dex Share Follower and enter info.

OMG IT WORKED!!! I LITERALLY COULD JUMP THROUGH THIS SCREEN AND HUG YOU YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH STRESS I WAS UNDER WITHOUT THESE NOTIFICATIONS. THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH. Oops sorry for all the caps I'm very excited. Thank you again 💙👍 |
The people that put these apps in place are the hero's ... Our t1d was diagnosed at 6 years old and these guys have made our lives so much better. Good luck with everything 👍👍 |
I couldn't agree more!! You too 👍👍 |
xDrip+ has its own set of problems that I am finding challenging. It does get data from Dexcom, but it has so very many options, and I can't really get it to do what I want to do, which is consistent alerts, that can be snoozed. I can't turn persistent notifications off, and they are incorrect. When an alert does go off, I sometimes have to reboot the phone to turn it off. ... I miss the simplicity of NightWatch. |
I prefer NightWatch as well so I run both with NightWatch simply getting info from the data xDrip is pulling. On xDrip, I delete all alerts so that I just get alerts from NightWatch now. On xDrip, go to Inter App Settings and turn on Broadcast Locally ... This will share the data with NightWatch app on your phone. On NightWatch, I unchecked the boxes for pulling data from Night Scout and Dexcom, so it can now get info from the xDrip app. |
Hello. I know Dexcom was down for just a little bit but nightwatch seemed to have gone out as well. Anyone else? Thank you
