Pretty sure this isn't a bug, as the Z axis should always be the vertical axis. Now, having an option to orient the axes based on the position of the plane could be a solution to this but it is likely much more complex to implement than it sounds.
Is there an existing issue for this problem?

Actual results
The plane position is moved along the Z axis independently of the plane orientation like the red arrow
The yellow line is the real Z axis and is not used.
Expected results
The plane position is moved along the Z axis dependently of the plane orientation like the green arrow
The yellow line is the real Z axis and is used.
