Well, from GitHub point of view Orca is not fork of Bambu, so I guess there is no git merge procedure.

Due to different reasons, we no longer directly merge branches from BBS anymore, instead we will cherry-pick code changes individually by hand, for changes that fit our needs.

This is pure manual process that we will go through EVERY commits in BBS and determine if we want that or not, and sometimes we also need to rewrite (at least part of) those changes due to the code difference between BBS and Orca; also lots of tests will be needed as well. As you could imagine this will be a tough work.

Since BBS tends to hide their dev process in private and pushes a ton of commits at once for each release, it gives us no time to keep up in time. There will be no gaurantee that when and which feature will be ported to Orca. If any of the perticual feature you think makes the best value, you could list them out so we could work on those first.

Guys, I understand and I wrote it wrong. Cherry picks is the way :)

I like changes:

  1. paint brim ear
  2. Edit filament information during printing
  3. Auto calibration for A series
  4. mesh accuracy for step files
  5. ironing inset

Maybe there are more but... ;)

Just to mention that there are some other features that look interesting from previous versions (BBS 1.9.x etc.) that we haven't ported yet, which you could also take a look too.

Yes, good point, I will check but it is quite difficult to track these changea from past

Thought I'd pop in and say that the Filament scarf seam settings options from the 1.10.0 beta would probably come in handy

Features from Studio 1.10 that I'd like to see in OrcaSlicer:

  • The increased ability to manually paint tree supports on vertical surfaces. These are very useful to stabilize (but not touch) tall, thin models. Currently, in Orca, this fails about 99% of the time.

  • Adjustable mesh accuracy on .step import.

Yes, I hope that we will get all these handy features in next beta of orcaslicer

I forgot to add

  • Choice of world or object coordinates for moves.

Yeah the coordinates selection and vertical support are on top of my list right now (other than critical bug fixes of cause).

Regarding the mesh accuracy thing, seems it's not very stable in BBS right now, they have pushed different fixes here and there in recent releases, so I prefer wait a bit longer.

And for other features you guys mentioned:

I have A1 printer, would be great to get it.
