New Text Shape Feature in Version 1.5 - Why is new 'Edit Text' menu disabled?

I've been using the new Text Shape Feature in version 1.5 but have been disappointed to find out that I cannot use the new "Edit Text" menu once the project has been saved and then reopened. The new "Edit Text" menu is disabled (grayed out). Is there anyway to Enable this menu so that we can "edit" previously added text shapes? Right now, I have to DELETE the previously added Shape Text and recreate it, if the project has been saved and reopened. The Edit Text menu seems to work on a newly added Text Shape until the project is saved and then reopened and then you are locked out from editing the earlier added Text Shape. If I'm just missing something on how to get into the "Edit Mode" on a previously created Text Shape, I would greatly appreciate someone educating me!
