We often build custom web parts that require an author to put in rich text content. We have been using the PnP React controls library for this, but it has some issues and is not well aligned with the out-of-the-box text editor.
Ideally for custom web parts where we are receiving author rich text input (usually saved into web part properties) we would be able to leverage the out-of-the-box text editor to ensure HTML content is well aligned to out-of-the-box web parts. Is having the default text editor from SharePoint available to custom code something that would be considered? I feel like this would be an amazing capability, especially if we had access to it both as a control we could render on the page AND as a web part property control.
