I have a difficult (random-generated) password for steam and it includes characters that are not available on a default US keyboard.
It is a must for me to be able to type those characters to use the steam integration. I have tried "loadkeys it" but that won't reflect on the keyboard. It would be great if it did, or if it had a way of changing the layout from the UI. Many people would prefer the latter, especially on the quick start screen. The best option IMHO would be to have both so that selecting a keyboard layoud from the UI will change that of the system (after all you are selecting what your hardware really is)
