dot (.) redo not working for autocompleted text

After autocompleting, pressing dot (period) to redo the action only replaces what I typed before accepting the autocomplete and not the full autocompleted change. I am used to the nvim-cmp behaviour where the autocomplete is also "redone", so not sure if this is a bug or intended behaviour. I've looked through the documentation but couldn't find anything - would appreciate some help!
