Improve exception reporting in log

It would be very nice to have a traceback for CRITICAL exceptions in the logs. I would have cut the issue for file permissions much more quickly if I had known from the start that where run_cosmicx was failing was just in copying the file, not in any of the complicated handling of the FITS file.
