It is open the Call for Abstracts for the 11th EGU Galileo Conference
entitled Solid Earth and Geohazards in the Exascale Era (23-26 May 2022). The
conference, endorsed by the Center of Excellence for Exascale in Solid Earth
(ChEESE), will revolve around the role of High Performance Computing (HPC) in Solid
Earth applications and related challenges in the transition towards Exascale. This
involves the following sessions:
Session 1: Preparation and optimization of HPC codes to Exascale
Session 2: Edge-to-end data workflows
Session 3: State-of-the-art in computational geosciences
They welcome abstracts tackling any or several of these topics from researchers in
Europe and abroad. Selected abstracts will be presented at digital poster sessions or for
plenary talks.
We will also have another session (Session 4) on Horizon Europe and EuroHPC
Policies which will tackle the EuroHPC deployment roadmap, policy and HPC
infrastructure access modes. Additionally, we are organising Master Classes for the first
three session topics, which will be focused on training early-career scientists.
This conference will be held in the UPC Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya Campus
Nord Vertex Building while a tour of the MareNostrum4 and MareNostrum5
supercomputers will take place in the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, also located
on the UPC campus.
