I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 with ROS melodic. I cloned rbkairos_sim, rbkairos_common, summit_xl_common packages from GitHub on to my workspace.

After this I used Catkin Build, it was successful without any errors.

when I try to launch the roslaunch rbkairos_sim_bringup rbkairos_complete.launch file, it gives me this error.

https://answers.ros.org/question/356292/resource-not-found-ur_description/

I cloned the universal_robot melodic devel onto my workspace and ran the catkin build, build was successful with errors.

In addition to this, I changed xacro --inorder to xacro.py in the launch file as mentioned on this forum https://github.com/ros-industrial/uni...

Thanks in advance

Hi,

We haven't tried this robot in Melodic yet. I think the package ur_description is not available in the ros_distro. Did you try from sources?

I tested this in melodic, on Ubuntu 18.
After cloning universal_robot I had this error:
Invalid parameter "kinematics_file", that issue is addressed here Now I can run the simulation and plan in moveit. Everything in gazebo looks good too.

Hi @kirstyellis,

I seem to have the same error. Can you write the git of universal_robot that you cloned to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @RafaelBrunet, err I can't remember but I believe the details are given in the link that I shared, where the issue was solved, there is a link to the changes that were made to this repo and the repo for ur_description that was used.

I'll check it out
