Its a know issue ever since DeviantArt started transitioning to their "eclipse" UI. Its changing too much since then to be worth programming for.

I wouldn't call it not worth to be coding for cuz the fundamental parts of the site haven't changed since Eclipse introduction, and the way I've planned how it should be doable you don't even need to worry about the website itself.

That, and it was already reported in another ticket (#1739) that someone actually created a Python software which evidently is the only program to support DA as of Eclipse: https://github.com/mikf/gallery-dl

I took a quick look at the file tree and it uses an awfully many files, so I wonder if that's actually what's necessary, but I didn't check the code. The way I imagined doing it, a single file is needed and it'd have everything needed, nothing as elaborate as Gallery-dl.

Give Gallery-dl a try.
