Implement improved binning algorithm

Implement a data driven approach to defining histogram bins that tightly match the data distribution, typically using a relatively large number of bins. Consider porting @harrelfe's hmisc algorithm (see histboxp function here to JavaScript, perhaps using d3 scales in place of R's pretty().
