As the title says, right now retroshare-service is built with the option no_rs_webui - is this intentional?

That would be a problem indeed. Where do you see that?

CONFIG+=no_rs_webui is in every build script under retroshare-service-0.6.7. Search for "rs_webui" in the repo and you'll see that every build of retroshare-service is being built with no webui, and the GUI version is being built with the webui.
