Bug description

When enabling the automotive option with Change form factor from the v5.8.0 version of the patches and trying to open a channel page (watch page, search page, subscriptions, etc.), YouTube gives a 400 error, making it impossible to open any channel page.

To reproduce the bug:
1: go to settings > ReVanced > General layout > Layout form factor > select "Automotive"
2: open any channel
3: see the error

Error logs

Solution

The only thing i know is that the tablet mode works for this

Additional context

• And no, I didn't download it from a sketchy website (it's just an custom header i made using custom header patch)
• works outside of incognito mode

Some of the tabs in the explore tab give the same error.

Maybe automotive mode can selectively not be applied for some calls. That might also restore the watch history menu.

All of these issue are present when using YouTube on an actual Android Automotive device.

It seems YouTube does not care enough to fully test their own app with these devices.

Oh.... Soooo... maybe we should add a warning about this in the side effects like this:

Automotive layout:
• Watch history menu is hidden
• Explore tab is restored
• Shorts open in the regular player
• Feed is organized by topics and channel
• Channels, description and some explore tabs will not work

Or there is an solution?

It seems YouTube does not care enough to fully test their own app with these devices.

giving the fact that YouTube have (or used to have) bugs on mobile like an buggy copy-paste bar (in ages) and (in versions before it was fixed, and later used by ReVanced) an bug in chat to make it not visible (with by some reason ReVanced were not affected) im not surprised that YouBug would not do an good job on automotives

Yes for now the limitation can be added to the user dialog popup.
