It would be useful to have an option that removes thumbnails from YouTube videos that appear in any sort of feed.
I know that such a feature exists for example in "Untrap for YouTube", maybe that is helpful as a reference.
I do not have an explicit design for the new video items in mind, but simply leaving out the thumbnail and maybe centering the text (title and channel name) vertically with the channel icon would be enough.
Motivation
Removing the thumbnails would add an additional option to follow the spirit of removing distractions from the app (like removing shorts etc.).
However all the solutions I found required where browser extensions, which would force me to miss out on the many cool features of the YouTube app and especially YouTube ReVanced, that I have gotten used to by now.
I am a dev as well, so, if my time allows it, I could maybe take this story on by myself, though I am quite unfamiliar with Kotlin and have not worked with or taken a good look at this code base. Also I can't estimate how much effort such a feature would be or if it would be appropriate as a first issue.
Thanks in advance for any response.
