Could someone help me to configure a JSON for a D1Mini connected to a MCP23017 and a 16 channel relay board?

The title says it all. I'm not very good with json. I have a 16 channel relay board that I want to control using a D1Mini with a MCP23017 interface. Hopefully someone can help me with some examples.

What GPIOs are you using for I2C bus?

Relay board logic is direct or inverted?

GPIO4 and 5 are an I2C communication bus. There is not any relation between switch and them. Try using other GPIOs, I use GPIO 2 and 3.

GPIO3->SCL
GPIO2->SDA

Change JSON "mc" to "mc":[[3,2,100]]

Still nothing. Would you mind have a look at the file I added which describes the connections, just to see if I'm missing something?

I didn’t connect the GND of the relay board. I have now connected it to the GND of the MCP23017 and now all the relays are turned on by default instead of turned off. But still nothing happens when I switch them in the home app. Any idea?

Disconnect relay board completely, and check voltage between MCP GPIOs and GND. With all 16 switches off, it should be 3V3 in all GPIOs.

Ok it’s working fine now. The problem was that I had ground from the MCP23017 connected to the D1 mini pro instead of the relay boards. It’s weird to me that there is no gnd connected to the d1 mini pro but it works.
