[PORT] Make a port of QuestCraft for Pico headsets target platforms #448
Comments
who is the fuck is that picocraft? i can't find them in google |
It just could be the name for minecraft on pico headsets, just like - "QuestCraft", but it could be "PicoCraft" |
i don't care what naming will be used, i just asking the team, can they port questcraft on Pico headsets. if they will answer "no". why no? |
No it won't be developed, because no one on the team has a Pico headset and they (Pico) haven't requested it. |
About pico requesting minecraft on their headsets, why should they contact QCXR if they would like to have PicoCraft? I mean, You can just make a unofficial port of minecraft and put it on pico headsets, just like QuestCraft does on OQ. On pico you can also install apk files and stuffs, so developing minecraft on pico should be not that hard, you just need to have some testers. |
@CADIndie This is a you question. |
Or at least they could just release the source to let Pico user try to port it themselves |
We do not have the development hardware nor the un-budgeted time at the moment to do it unofficially. Like we said, we will happily do a port if Pico would like to get in contact with us about it but for now it is not on our to-do list. |
Reopening as QuestCraft will be getting a Pico port in the near future as we have the hardware now. |
it’s very cool, just like that, do you have a release date? |
If I'm not mistaken, correct me if I'm wrong, you could use OpenXR to make it work on other headsets, right? Edit: Is there a way to know the battery life of the headset on a full charge right now? |
That is not the main problem, OXR is easy, rendering is hard |
Hello, do you have an approximate release date please as I won't have internet in a short time, thank you very much |
Unfortunately, we don't have an estimated date. |
Ho ok, dont worry, thanks you |
So when can we provide the software for this project? |
No update? Kinda sad, but honsetly, the devs have Meta's software in their hands, making them just angry. |
do you already have a rough idea of how many percent the port is completed on (pico)? |
ScreenRecording_2024.08.27-03.03.13.mp4I tried to install the newest QC version on my Pico, and unlike the older ones, it installed and started. The problem was that it started as a flat-screen app and just showed a few blocks. But this is definitely a progress. |
Unfortunately the current version of questcraft don't work on pico the pico version will be released later |
There will be a version for Pico soon (first on the patreon) and then on the github (judging by their post). |
Yeah! I saw that, too. I am really exited to try it... |
When public release? I'm can't donate because living in sanctioned country :( |
._. |
Currently pico 4u and 3 don't work, and might be fixed soon. |
plz public release i wanna play minecraft because i dont have roblox on pico 4 |
Most pico devices work in the newest patreon build |
Your currect version of QuestCraft is installing on Pico 3 Neo and Pico 4 headsets with PicoOS 5.x.x firmware version, but don't run correctly.
It's going because, i think, u are using UnitySDK for Meta Quest target platform.
Pico's dev site have a UnitySDK for Pico headsets.
Can you make a branch or another project for porting this on Pico? I keep in mind what that could may be a troubling, but can u give me official team answer? Thx
