Monitoring ipv6 #10
Comments
I don't exactly remember why IPv6 doesn't work, but I already asked Re-Logic about this one and they claimed that nothing is specific for IPv4. I don't know what the disconnect is, but as long as I can remember, IPv6 has been unsupported, or at least something about it is quirky. |
Also, unfortunately, I don't have IPv6 locally to test with right now. So, that poses an additional challenge to figuring this out. |
It's really painful without ipv4.Thanks for your reply. |
@JoeLeaf can you describe more what doesn't work? Can you not bind the interface from the server perspective? Can clients not connect? |
Also, if this issue exists in normal Terraria, (the server from the official website and the official game client), and you post on the Terraria community forums, it might be fixed in the game in the next patch. We can also help nudge this along too, but it's not a guaranteed thing. |
How do I test whether it is a server or a client problem? |
@JoeLeaf we believe we've isolated the problem. This isn't something we can fix, but it is something that we were able to pass on to someone who can. |
You may be able to setup and use a 6to4 tunnel or hamachi or something as a VPN to get a v4 stack on your network, but right now this is definitely a client issue / something that is not something we can patch. |
Thanks again for answering my questions. It's 5:00 in the morning in my country. I need to have a rest.Try again in the afternoon. |
@JoeLeaf it should be fixed in Terraria 1.4.4.6, once we get confirmation we'll close this. |
Great. I'm looking forward to the new version!!I will follow the updates in real time. |
Unfortunately, this was reverted due to a bug with IPv4/6 cross-compatibility. We're working on it! |
[English is not my first language,I hope there are no mistakes in the expression.]
As there are fewer and fewer ipv4, I can't get ipv4.Are there any methods to support ipv6(Maybe there is a way to support it. I don't know)
Whether this function can be added for selective monitoring
