Github Tutorial: Contributing to an Open Source Project

This is a tutorial focused on contributing to a project on Github, specifically one hosted by the Department of Energy Atmospheric Radation Measurment program. This tutorial will take place on two days, with both led by Max Grover:

  • Windows Users: Monday, February 28 2022 at 9 AM Central Standard Time
  • Windows Users: Tuesday, March 01 2022 at 9 AM Central Standard Time

Pre-Requisites

  1. Create a Github username if you haven't done so already - here are instructions on how to sign up for an account
  2. Install git if you are using a Windows machine (it comes pre-installed with Mac/Linux) - are is a link to the installation website
