About the group

United thru Action is a grassroots progressive group in NYC with thousands of members, founded after the 2016 election. We fight back against Trump and the Republican Party by working to win elections all over the state. The Data team provides research, tools, and advice to other volunteers.

Nick Franklin (nof20 on Github) and Lilly MacEachern.

Who we're looking for

We need coders, researchers, analysts, Data Scientists, and people with an interest in NY State politics. And people who want to learn all that stuff!

Tools

We perform data munging and analysis in Python and Tableau, and write and share material on Google Drive. We aim for all our software to be free and open source and actively share it with other groups. We have also started to partner with National Voter File and could use some Postgres experience!
