It seems to happen when the target (in this case the player) is located below the bot and across a gap or hole.
It also happens when you block-place the bot (place blocks in the way of a jump, causing it to fall). Don't ask me why I was trolling the bot though...
Most likely, any case of falling (while attempting to bridge) will cause this to happen.
In my use case, the pathfinder is being used in combination with a self-made PVP system for 1.8-- but when I disable the PVP code, the issue persists (though it seems a little better at not doing that since it's more sure of where it's goal is when I'm not constantly changing it).
As a side note, this is a simulated Bedwars game, and I don't intend to use it on public servers without consent.

Can confirm, it also tends to do this when given Levitation, like from a shulker. (or at least, it did that last time I checked, but I don't think that would be fixed but this not)
