Is there a way to convert prism html to a properly formatted text string?

I would like to take a prism based <pre> code block </pre> using the cheerio API (akin to jquery) and validate the YAML within. What would be the best way to do this? I suspect it might be similar to how the copy to clipboard works, but through an API. I thought I would ask if there was a simple way to do this. -- thanks much

The html-to-text utility was stripping off leading spaces after a newline (<br>) - perhaps a bug! By simply collecting all span.token-line elements and grabbing their inner text values, I was able to stitch it together easily.
