Thick vertical stripes appear in latest VS Code

This just started to appear for me this week (actually today, but I'm not sure when something changed that this would have happened):

I'm running the latest version but I'm not seeing this. Can you provide more information like the actual version number and OS? Have you changed any settings recently?

I doubt that it matters but the version of this theme in the extensions repo is extremely outdated. Microsoft decided to lock me out of my account years ago so I can't update the theme. The latest version is hosted here and you'll have to install it manually. There's also a more comprehensive package by someone else, which stylizes the entirety of VS Code instead of just the text field. That might work better for you.

I had a look today at the VS Code theme and it's looking ok. The "more comprehensive one" doesn't have the vibe of Darktooth, the brown background makes it look more like a spin-off of Bespin ... my (extremely out of time) 2c
