Lots of effort has been put into this collection since its inception a few years ago.
It has been a long journey with interesting challenges, and we are proud to have just reached the v2.2.0 milestone 🎉
It's a good moment for considering our achievements.
One of my main goals with this collection was to provide a good Markdown/Djot-to-PDF solution, and, er... let's no fear our words, to "kill the Markdown/Djot-to-PDF game" in a new inventive way.
Oh yes, that's a "click-bait" sentence; but when this collection is used in combination the resilient.sile collection, it does provides a powerful and flexible solution for converting Markdown or Djot documents to PDF, in my viewpoint.
It is a key part and an essential cornerstone of the grander vision of the resilient.sile collection: the ability to easily "make an entire book from front cover to back cover" using a lightweight markup language for most of the content, if not all of it.
Regarding the 5 enhancement issues still open at the moment in our tracker:
Apart from bug fixes and regular maintenance, as far as I am concerned, only #10 will be worked on in the near future. (I might give a shot at #4, if time allows, but be aware that it's not a priority for me.)
Other than that, I believe this collection is in a fairly good state for now, with plenty of great features.
Its main objectives have been achieved, and the original "project charter" has been fulfilled.
Sure, we can always imagine doing more things, in a different way...
Yet, I believe this collection has reached a stage where it would greatly benefit from being more widely known and used. I'm open to feedback and new feature ideas from the community, and it would be exciting to see this repository gain more attention. While crossing the '128 stars' milestone on GitHub would certainly help increase visibility 🌟 and make me really glad, what matters most is attracting active and engaged users who can contribute to its continued growth.
So, dear users and early adopters, what are your impressions of this collection, and how do you think it could be improved?
If you’ve found value in this project, I’d greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word so it can continue to grow and reach more people.
