ItemSend add-in not triggering when using the "Send To Mail Recipient" feature in Word

When utilising the "Send to Mail Recipient" feature to send the word document as an email body, the ItemSend add-in is not triggering.
The add-in documentation mentions that the add-in should be running in such cases if Outlook is open. But even with Outlook being open, the add-in isn't running.

Your Environment

• Platform [PC desktop, Mac, iOS, Office on the web]: PC
• Host [Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.]: Word, Outlook
• Office version number: Version 2412 Build 16.0.18324.20092 64-bit
• Operating System: Windows
• Browser (if using Office on the web): ______

Expected behavior

The ItemSend add-in should trigger when sending using the "Send to Mail Recipient" feature.

Current behavior

The ItemSend add-in is not triggering when using the "Send to Mail Recipient" feature to send the email as a body of the email.

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to Micorsoft word --> options --> Quick Access Toolbar --> select all commands --> Mail Recipient --> Add to Quick Access Toolbar --> Ok.
2. Draft a document and save it.
3. Using the "Send To Mail Recipient" in the Quick Access Toolbar, send the document as an email body.
4. Add-in is not triggered, even if Outlook is open.
