When using v.what.strds, t.vect.observe.strds and the extension v.what.strds.timestamp with a vector map of type centroid, I get empty attribute tables because v.what.rast running in the background of the aforementioned tools has the default set to points and there's no option type in these wrapping tools. Ideally, tools wrapping others should expose their options, no?

Describe the solution you'd like
The type option should be exposed in v.what.strds, t.vect.observe.strds and the extension v.what.strds.timestamp so users can select points or centroids type as they can do with v.what.rast.
