On the collection, can search terms be part of the URL?

It would be great if the URL reflects a search so a potential user can be linked directly to a limited listing of the collection

for example, I want to link the collection filtered down to just the "raft" family of textiles, how can I send this filtered state to someone else via email, etc.?
