Seems to be the case at least for a "Ø"

When exactly does this error happen?
How can I reproduce the bug?

During Sign Up, it failed when the users trys to use a special char.

I guess this is not important for v3 right now, as v4 will need to support it. Will you test it in the Go-rewrite, @jhbruhn?
