tf2 options doesnt do anything and i cant make it work for myself (cuz i never modded tf2)

I just compiled my avatar to tf2 and downloaded a example mod to know how to add it as a playable character or replace any of the classes but nothing happened at the end and the example mod ended up working

Tried adding the model to the tf2\custom folder and renamed the model files as engineer opened the game and i am welcomed with the engineer model being default

Desktop version and rbx2source version

maybe make it where it compiles to a custom model and when selecting the Team Fortress 2 option it askes which class to replace so it works really
