Improving editorconfig settings

Because each project and/or developer has different code style demands I'd like to improve our editorconfig with more settings set.

For example: In my personal project I have a couple of IDE diagnostics set to error e.g. Parentheses preferences (IDE0047 and IDE0048) or Namign rules (IDE1006) just to name some.

I see two ways to improve the editorconfig:

1. We create a new editorconfig with all currently available settings and incorporate our current one into that. With a clear marker where are already agreed upon settings and which are new and should be decided.
2. We create discussion(s) for settings someone would like to change/add and add/change them in an iterative process.
