After downloading and extracting through lutris, during installation says unable to find the script.

The exact message "Unable to find executable /home/#USER/.cache/lutris/installer/lord-of-the-rings-battle-for-middle-earth-ii/installscript/bfme2.sh"

Can't reproduce. the "#USER" part seems strange, it should be "$USER". Did you copy/paste the command in the readme?
Yes i did.
Can you run neofetch and paste the output for me? I'm going to try it out with your distro + shell in a VM to see if I can reproduce the issue
