Why are the Mac and Windows packs hosted at the forums but the Linux pack hosted at the website? Wouldn't it make sense to host all three in the same location?

They're typically all hosted on DFFD, and the Linux ones are mirrored on the website and here. @BeauBouchard is the one who officially runs the website, but he's been very inactive recently. He did express interest in updating the website, though.

Regarding hosting the packs, I doubt that the current plan the website is running on could provide enough bandwidth for all the packs. It might work as a mirror, I guess, but I don't have access to deploy anything.

Bandwidth is the real limiter - my pack averages ~150GB per day, and peaks at three or four times that just after a release. Hosting in the terabyte range becomes a non-trivial expense, so I prefer to stick with the free DFFD and donated mirrors.
