What sort of information would be helpful here?

  • the ini file used?
  • what information is passed from gcam to hector & visa versa?
  • what version of Hector is being used? For more Hector specifics such as how the terrestrial carbon cycle runs etc. can we direct users to the Hector documentation?

Just some generic info on what policy changes can be made in hector (I tried adding some but not sure how accurate that is). It would be helpful to know what info is passed between models as well. Feel free to direct to more detailed documentation in hector.

Specifics such as the .ini file are not required I think. For the Insights, if you had recently written some papers using hector, you could mention the main insights/takeaways from those papers and just add a reference.

@kanishkan91 I am really sorry just getting to this now! I've made some changes and have a branch ready to push but it appears I do not have push access to the repo, could you give this to me?

Some additional questions for you

  • What does Radiative forcing: AN3A refer to? It sounds like it might be an IAMC term that I am unfamiliar with...
  • I guess I am slightly confused by what you mean about "policy" there are Hector settings/parameters that can be changed and then there is the target finder mode you can run gcam in which uses Hector's temperature or RF to determine if the target was met is that what you mean?

Hi @kdorheim . Apologies for the late reply. Out sick today actually.

  • I will look into the access.

  • AN3A is an IAMC term for comprehensive radiative forcing. This is the definition from EMF-"An important extension in EMF27 is that
the constraint here is placed on a more comprehensive definition of radiative forcing,
    which we call AN3A forcing"

  • Yup that would be fine. Basically anything that users can run to explore alternatives to the base case. For GCAM you can run SSPs as policy for example.
