Pull different frame rates for depth and color

Hi!

For a very specific use case, I am wondering if the following thing is possible on a D430:

• pull depth image at 30FPS
• pull color image at 15FPS

I have quite a low bandwidth constraint and figured out that would help, instead of doing 30FPS for both. Has anyone ever tried this?

Hi @maelfabien Yes, you can have different frames rates for depth and color if the camera has an RGB sensor. However, this is not possible on the D430 model of Depth Module unfortunately as it does not have an RGB sensor. The D415 Depth Module is the only board in the 400 Series Depth Module range that has an integrated RGB sensor.

You can obtain an RGB-like image on D430 by using the infrared sensor and disabling the projector to remove the infrared dot-pattern projection from the image. The image will be monochrome instead of full color though.
