Our CSS is still not preprocessed: not minified, not prefixed, just delivered as is. This is most likely the cause of this issue.

Weird, but the input has all the styles it needs:

It's 99% likely to be a prefix issue

Seems like it's not. Even with prefixes for "browserslist": ["last 60 versions", "not dead", "> 0.01%"], it still shows as in the original comment. The styles applied have been inspected to be exactly the same as in Chrome (also on Mac).
I say it is not worth it; it's just one text field, and very few (if any) students actually use Safari
