This suggestion is not appropriate for IBC. What you are describing is a TWS/Gateway monitoring app making use of the API to keep tabs on things. I certainly agree that such an app could be useful for many TWS and Gateway users, but there's no reason at all why it should be part of IBC. Indeed it would be potentially useful for the many TWS/Gateway users who don't use IBC at all. IBC's sole purpose is to automate certain user actions that cause inconvenience to users. It doesn't use the API at all. |

One or more parameters could be placed to execute a script in case of errors. For example, if TWS or IB Gateway has been disconnected, execute a script: This script could be to send an email that the broker connection was lost for X minutes or a telegram message.
Another error could be the loss of connection to a specific real-time data package.
While it is true that the connection may be lost due to an internet failure, the intention is to notify us that this loss of connection occurred once it is reestablished, in case we need to match orders that were not placed.
