Hello, I leave this explanation here for all those who want to create an international Snomed CT owl file + some of its extensions, in my case the Spanish version.

First you must download both versions of Snomed CT, both the international version and its extension.

Second, you have to cut and paste the contents of the extension files into the international version files. This process only has to be done with those files that use the script, specifically:

Terminology/sct2_Concept.....
Terminology/sct2_Description.......
/Terminology/sct2_StatedRelationship
/Terminology/sct2_TextDefinition......
/Refset/Language/der2_cRefset......

Once the process is finished, we can run the perl script and our ontology will have been generated with the extensions we have added.

@lordrubenbp ,

I'm trying to build an OWL file containing SNOMED-CT and the Belgium Extension. It doesn't seem to work. The result only contains the international version. Maybe you can see what I did wrong?

These are the steps I took:

  • Extract the international on (version July 2017 v1.1) and the belgian extension in separate directories.
  • Appended the contents of the extension files to the original ones (excl the headers).
    • Some of the files exist in multiple languages (en,fr,nl). I've added them all. Is this correct?
