Issue

The appeal for Vanuatu earthquake MDRVU012 has been published on the IFRC website and shows up fine at https://www.ifrc.org/appeals?date_from=&date_to=&location%5B%5D=6438&search_terms=&search_terms=&search_terms=&text=

However the GO page for this response https://go.ifrc.org/emergencies/7264/reports does not show the appeal docs or the MDR code as it's not attached to the appeal.

Initially I assumed that it just needed the tickbox behind the scenes, or to wait for a cronjob to run - however me being me I've investigated further and now believe it's a source problem rather than a GO processing problem - I can see that MDRVU012 is not showing on the GO-API that I believe is the source for all appeal data (unless that connection has changed in the new ERP world?)
http://go-api.ifrc.org/api/appeals

Someone will need to investigate why the appeals data is not pulling through to GO (not sure if problem on ERP end or data warehouse/wherever it passes through for GO to access)

Expected behaviour

https://go.ifrc.org/emergencies/7264/reports should show the Appeal pdf for MDRVU012, and the front page for this emergency should show the appeal code MDRVU012 and the key figs (appeal amount, targeted population. etc.)

Impact

It affects everyone who looks at the Vanuatu earthquake GO page - donors, responders, partners

Severity

Unable to see details of IFRC appeal/targeted population

Is there a workaround?

No workaround

Email to IM mailbox Mon 23 evening Vanuatu time:

Vanuatu appeal data not pulling through for 3 days (1 full business day) so far
Just an update to say that it's now 5pm Monday 23 Dec in Vanuatu, and the appeal info still isn't showing on GO - because it's still not pulling through on the GO-API. The appeal publication notification email (copied below) came through at 07:42 Vanuatu time (09:42 my time) on Saturday morning - so it's now been 3 full days - one full business day - that the appeal data hasn't been showing on GO.

Other appeals
I had a look to see which other recent appeals show on https://www.ifrc.org/appeals but do not show on http://go-api.ifrc.org/api/appeals therefore do not pull through to GO, and of the top 36 Appeal docs showing on ifrc.org right now there are two that are not pulling through - which makes me wonder if someone still needs to hit a button somewhere on the ERP side for these specific appeals, perhaps? Not sure who's working and who's on hols, so cc'ing Munu and Ana in case they have an idea why these two emergencies would be special and not pull through the automated systems like others do??

  • Vanuatu - Earthquake (MDRVU012)
  • Burundi - Mpox Epidemic (MDRBI022)

A few hours after that (Tues 24th early morning NZ time - lunchtime Mon 23rd Geneva time) I got a GO automatic notification email that 6 new operations had been added (i.e. demonstrating that these operations had been included on the GO-API feed within the previous couple of hours. This included the Vanuatu earthquake plus:

  • MDRAM014 Armenia population movement
  • MDRBW007 Botswana - storm
  • MDRS1005 Africa - Cyclone Chido
  • MDRMW021 Malawi - Cyclone Chido
  • MDRUG053 Uganda - Landslides

What happened on Monday 23rd that allowed these operations to suddenly come through on the feed? I.e. is the root cause solved?

FYI MDRBI022 is still not coming through on the GO-API feed, not sure of the reason of that but that must be a different thing. It is mapped on GO, so must've been on the feed at some point previously (or manually handled)

Seems to be ok, except that MDRBI022 is really not arriving from go-api feed, and is not in appealfilter.

Hi @tovari what was the explanation for this problem and the timing delay? If the explanation is clear and root cause resolved (whether business or technical) then I can close this issue! Thanks a lot
