Problem with importing publications with Cli

To import publications from a BibTex file exported from Zotero I've followed the instructions for the Hugo Academic Cli tool (https://github.com/wowchemy/hugo-academic-cli and https://wowchemy.com/docs/content/publications/).

The command academic import --bibtex data/publications.bib produces a new publication folder and the associated .bib citation file for exactly one publication, but nothing else. No index.md file is generated, and I don't know why. I get the following error code:

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I cannot figure what the problem might be. I'm a Hugo beginner – an obvious error on my part may well be the issue.
