Adjust size of custom icons in Academic’s featurette

Is there a way to adjust the size of custom icons in the featurette widget of Academic? I added three custom icons and their size is very small. I’m developing the website completely in github: https://github.com/koenraadvanmeerbeek/Website

@gcushen decided to make custom icons a bit smaller (0.9em) than normal ones. For the featurette widget you can change their size by modifying this line, customizing your style (choose the size you want):

.featurette-icon {
  font-size: 4rem;
}

Thanks. I've added a custom.css on my github here: "Website/assets/scss/custom.css" and changed the font-size, but nothing changes yet. On the 'customizing your style'-page, I read that I have to re-run HUGO. How do I do this? I may remind you that I use only Github and Netlify to build my site and get things online.
