Custom theme

Dear all, I'm still new with this theme for my website. After reading the docs, I realized that I can customize the overall appearance by modifying the existing theme and put it in the root folder. However, I couldn't find the existing themes folder in my local and remote repositories. Am I missing something? Btw, I'm using Rstudio and blogdown package to built my site. Thank you

With the new hugo module version the source files of the theme are no longer in your repo. You'll need to take them from the wowchemy-hugo-modules repo.

This is great thanks, but I struggle to see how this structure should be implemented in data/themes.

Do you have an example of how I would structure it if I only wanted to change a single file? Do I need to copy the entire theme in?

You can just copy for example the minimal.toml theme and put it in your data/themes folder. With that you can change the basic colors used in your website. For further customizations you'll need to customize your CSS.

If you want to change something else, you may need to override a template. For that you would copy just the .html file of the partial you want to override and put it in your layouts/partials folder.
