The following is a list of permission nodes that are checked in the plugin, and their function:

| simplechat.switch | Switching to channels |
| simplechat.switch.others | Sets other player's selected channel |
| simplechat.setcolor.channelname | Sets the user's color for the given channel |
| simplechat.reload | Reloads config |
| simplechat.clearchat.clear | Clears the chat |
| simplechat.clearchat.exempt | Prevents your chat from being cleared |
| simplechat.clearchat.notify | Notifies you that chat has been cleared |
| simplechat.ignore | Ignores specified player (hides their messages) |
| simplechat.ignore.exempt | Prevents players from /ignore'ing you |
| simplechat.me | Says action in chat (/rp) |
| simplechat.message | Messages specific player |
| simplechat.mute | Mutes specified player |
| simplechat.mute.exempt | Prevents you from being |
| simplechat.shadowmute | ShadowMutes specified player |
| simplechat.shadowmute.exempt | Prevents you from being ShadowMuted |
