Setting up Wineskin in Heroic Games Launcher

I've been using Heroic Games Launcher on my M1 MacBook for a while now but I can't get anything to work with Wineskin.

I have heroic, wine-crossover, and wineskin installed from Homebrew and exclusively play the free games from Epic Games Store. Some of the games work with wine-crossover. Otherwise, I will copy the game files into a Wineskin wrapper and attempt to directly run it from there. However, I never seem to be able to run a game with Wineskin directly through Heroic.

Wineskin wrappers show up in Heroic but never worked with any game, even if I can directly run the game through the wrapper app (Games tested include Islets and Atom Eve). I assumed from here that Wineskin worked with Heroic at one point but this is the most useful thread I could find.

Is Heroic incompatible with newer Wineskin Wrapper versions? Can anybody else run games with Wineskin through Heroic? Or am I fundamentally misunderstanding something? This has always been a slight annoyance for me so I want to make sure I haven't missed anything important.
