Hi Hamish,

Are there good reasons to compile MuSTEM oneself with regards to speed?
As in, do you think it run faster if I compile it, or is using the pre-compiled binary probably just as fast?

Hi Thomas,

Good question and, though I can't be certain I suspect that the speed ups from compiling yourself will be marginal. The PGI Fortran compiler provides a few options for targeting Tesla GPUs and different CPUs but, though I haven't tested this rigorously, I haven't seen a large effect of using these options for muSTEM. Does that answer your question?

Cheers,
Hamish

Thanks Hamish, that's answers it! I've been meaning to give mustem a go, so you'll probably be hearing more from me :)
